John Watkins is a normal man living a normal life. He goes to his factory job every day and loves his beautiful wife, who is pregnant with their first child. One of John's many hobbies is hunting, and he and his best friend go on opening day every year. This year an unusual snowstorm hits and it is freezing outside. However, John decides to go anyway even though his friend cancels on him. At a new hunting location, John sees something shocking that he shouldn't and discovers a heartbreaking secret. In the midst of the heavy snowfall and followed closely by his pursuers, John must use his weapon and survival skills in order to make it out of the snow-covered Kentucky wilderness and get back home to his wife. He quickly becomes the hunted.
