Jenni is a seven-year-old only child growing up in the 70s. She resided with her mother Rose. I'm Different explores the challenges Jenni faced as a biracial child. Her mother's strength and support were invaluable to Jenni growing up. Jenni's mother always told her she wasn't just black or white. She was both and she had the best of both worlds.
Jenni grew up to be a local pageant title holder in the Miss America pageant, NBA dancer, and college graduate. During her reign as Miss Racine Wisconsin, she was able to work with over three thousand students in the Racine Wisconsin Unified School District. Her platform included talking about differences and being different was to be celebrated. She dedicates I'm Different to her late mother Rose and principal Mr. M for being her support.
