The way children and young people learn is changing. In the past, teachers used to act as frontal knowledge mediators, hierarchically educating children from the top down. Now, current literature presents practical methods that are based on learning support and coaching at eye level, filled with empathy and appreciation. After years of accompanying apprentices on their way to their final apprenticeship exams, it soon became clear that the young people not only needed extra tuition to cope with their problems at school, but also a form of counselling that also takes into account their everyday challenges. The aim of this book is to show personal changes, but also changes within the immediate environment that have taken place through the use of systemic forms of counselling within the learning support of young people.
