The third edition of this established textbook for undergraduate dental students has been completely revised and updated throughout with twenty new illustrations. New sections on elderly patients and prevention of cross-infection have been added, while those on copy dentures, mucosal lesions, burning mouth syndrome, patient assessment and muscular control of dentures have been re-written. Changes in technique and approach since the second edition was published in 1983 have been included. The book also serves as a practical guide for practitioners.
