Mark D Owen grew up in Portland, OR, consuming science fiction classics such as Asimov's Foundation, Frank Herbert's Dune, and Star Trek. He earned a degree in mechanical engineering from Oregon State University and a master's degree in Advanced Manufacturing Technology from the University of Limerick, Ireland. After a career as an engineer, inventor, and entrepreneur, Mark returned to science fiction as an author. When he isn't traveling or hiking with his wife, Anne, he enjoys wood working, dark chocolate, strategy board games, and spending time with their prolific extended families.
