Born in Bucharest - Romania in 1960, Daniel Ionita emigrated in 1980 to New Zealand (Auckland) and then to Australia. Living in Sydney, Daniel teaches Organizational Improvement at the Business Practice Unit of the Graduate School of Business - University of Technology Sydney and finalizes a post-graduate degree in literature - poetry translation (Sydney University).
Daniel Ionita had published several volumes of poetry in both English and Romanian, as well as anthologies and collective collections in translation. His work has been included in several anthologies in Australia, Romania, Canada, The Republic of Moldova, as well as in many literary magazines in several countries.

2019 - Poetry Prize for 2018 in the Republic of Moldova for 2018 - conferred by the Literature & Art magazine, Chi¿inau - Republic of Moldova
2019 - Medal and Certificate of Merit - awarded by the Minister for Romanians Abroad - for contribution to promoting Romanian culture internationally.
