Kim Clarke is Delbert Trueman's granddaughter. She is an award-winning writer who, for more than thirty-five years, has worked as a daily newspaper reporter and editor, magazine editor, and speechwriter. She has written for the American Historical Association, the Detroit News, and the University of Michigan Press, among other outlets, and in 2022, the Washington Post published her feature on the repatriation of American war dead. She lives in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
