Zusammenfassung

Unveiled Things of the Absent Realm Mukashafat-i Ghaibiya Makashifat Ghaibiya translates to "Unveiled Things of the Absent Realm" and refers to a concept or a work related to spiritual knowledge and the hidden aspects of reality. While the term isn't universally defined, it appears in discussions of Sufism and mystical literature and is associated with gaining insight into the spiritual or unseen world. In this context, makashifat ghaibiya refers to the "unveiling of unseen mysteries" or revelations of divine truths that mystics experience. It is a state of privileged inner knowledge that is attained through personal experience and direct, spiritual vision of God, and is considered an alternative to knowledge gained through intellectual pursuits. Literal Meaning: The Arabic-derived term "Makashifat" (or Mukashifat) means "unveiling" or "revelations," and "Ghaibiya" relates to the unseen or absent realm (al-ghaib). In Sufism, this concept refers to spiritual insights and knowledge that are not accessible through ordinary means but are revealed to individuals through spiritual practices and divine grace. For the Sufis, the ultimate aim is a state of communion and proximity with God. Makashifat ghaibiya represents a significant stage in this spiritual path, where the seeker experiences a profound, direct realization of the Divine's presence. Other historical texts and figures are associated with this concept, including Imam al-Ghazali who embraced Sufism and its emphasis on kashf after becoming disillusioned with philosophy, and Ibn Arabi, as the most influential Muslim mystic, who emphasized the necessity of "divine unveiling" (kashf) as a means of understanding the universality of God's oneness. Mukashafat-i Ghaibiya is a small treatise among other Ahmad Sirhindi's works, which discusses the nature of spiritual experiences within the Mujaddidi Sufi order. The original Persian manuscript is also known as Mukashafat-i `Ainiya. Because it was published before in that name once due to a printing mistake where the Gha`in lost a dot and became `ain, and the dot under the Beh got misplaced and it became a Nun.

The Mujaddid had two constructive criticisms for Ibn Arabi's (wahdat -i wujud), with respect to two disparate matters. They are, Earlier: In the earlier part of his life the Mujaddid (QS)'s theory was this, Sufi experience of tawhid: Wahdat-i shuhud with respect to the nature of the sufi experience of tawhid. Ontology: However, his ontology was zilliyat, that the existence of the cosmos was shadow (zilliy) existence, instead of prototypal existence, which belonged to Allah swt exclusively. Later: A Modified form of wahdatul wujud with Seven-descents with respect to ontology. Irshad Alam is a sufi disciple of his teacher Grandshaykh Muhammad Mamunur Rashid of Bangladesh/Cambodia. His teacher has also granted him ijazat to teach this tariqa. He lives in both Berkeley, California studying, translating and writing on the Great Mujaddid Ahmad Sirhindi and teaching the Mujaddidi sufi tariqa. He's the author of the book Faith Practice Piety which is a critical translation from the Maktubat-i Imam-i Rabbani.
