Sam Hay grew up in Scotland and trained as a journalist in Edinburgh. Her first book for children was published in 2005, and since then, she has written more than 50 books for children. Sam is a passionate advocate for improving literacy in schools and regularly works with students challenging, inspiring, and supporting creative writing and a love of reading.

Catarina Oliveira grew up in Portugal and currently resides there after living in Canada for about 10 years (Toronto and Vancouver). She graduated with a degree in Graphic Design and worked for 10 years in the design industry. In 2015, she redirected her career path to pursue what she loves: creating characters and illustrating stories, specializing in children's books. When she's not drawing, she enjoys being at home, cooking, and going on hiking trips around the world.
