Frank Banks is Emeritus Professor of Teacher Education at The Open University, where he was Director of International Teacher Education and led the innovative online flexible initial teacher education programmes. Frank has worked as a teacher of science, technology, engineering science and mathematics (STEM) in different secondary high schools in England and in Wales.

HildaRuth Beaumont [formerly David Barlex] is an acknowledged leader in design and technology education, curriculum design and developing curriculum materials. A former school teacher, senior lecturer in education at Brunel University, and now an Honorary Senior Research Associate at the Institute of Education, UCL, Hilda's curriculum development activities stem from her conviction that classroom practice should be informed by academic research.
