Moe Poirier believes facilitation is a transformational art. For more than 25 years, he has helped leaders, facilitators, and teams show up with greater presence, precision, and purpose.

His path into facilitation began through engineering and entrepreneurship, where an early fascination with systems eventually evolved into a deeper interest in how people work, learn, and lead together.

Through decades of coaching and experimentation in thousands of rooms, Moe developed The Five Personas of Facilitation?a framework that explores how great facilitators adapt to the changing needs of groups through five distinct ways of showing up: the Sensei, Drill Sergeant, Superhero, Confidant, and Jester.

He believes facilitation is more than set of skills and techniques. It is a discipline. A craft. A practice of presence. And sometimes, at its best, a kind of love story.

As Founding Partner of Shift Facilitation, Moe's focus is on developing the next generation of facilitators and collaborative leaders through his unique approach to teaching facilitation skills. His client list includes Allstate, BMO Financial Group, Home Depot, McCain Foods, Scotiabank, and Walmart.

As a seasoned facilitator, instructional designer, coach, consultant, and author, Moe is actively engaged in talent development at an industry level. He has been a Member of the Program Advisory Committee for the ATD International Conference and Expo since 2022, and served as Chair for ATD26 hosted in Los Angeles. At home in Canada, he proudly serves the I4PL community as a partner in delivering the ?Paper to Practice? professional development series.

As a speaker, Moe's sessions have been featured at ATD, I4PL, and IAF conferences, and he has spoken internationally at the ATD Asia Pacific Conference, ATD Southeast Asia Summit, as well as the ForoFiAD Summit in Argentina.
