Gar Crane, a native of Virginia, was educated in the Arts at Virginia Commonwealth University and Syracuse University. His artwork has been featured in Germany's Novum Gebrauchsgraphik, Japan's Vision-American Artists Today III, Adweek Portfolio-Southern Addition, the 66th Art Directors Annual, and the Print Design Annual. A career in advertising sufficiently prepared him for a future in sailing, surfing, and skateboarding. A dedication to these skill sets has grown into a full-time endeavor pathologically connected to his preferred weapon of creativity when recuperating from repeated knee and wrist injuries-writing. Gar lives on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, the West Coast of Florida, and visits the Delaware Coast, where he is a member of the Rehoboth Beach Writers Guild. His illustrated children's book, Sailboat and Tree, is soon to be published. Ucána the Unruly is his debut novel.
