The Black Take is a well informed and exciting series of works with trade crossover appeal on subjects related to the Black experience. Written solely by Black authors, this series provides a fresh take on topical and relevant subjects from voices we don't hear enough of, as well as bringing a range of entirely new works to the fore. Its authors are young and mostly unknown but are each experts in their field. The Black Take is a vehicle and an opportunity for the world to listen to the clarity of vision, rich expertise and revelatory insight of these experts - and to rightly recognise them as such. Young people, and especially young Black people have been far too frequently dismissed. The Black Take turns this around, drawing on the value and power of what they have to share with the reader and, in doing so, bringing Blackness to life in a pioneering and never-before-seen way.
