Zusammenfassung

Jump through The Attic Door to Nowhere in this portal-hopping adventure - the first in this magical mystery series from Lisette Auton, with fully integrated black-and-white illustrations throughout from Jenny Taylor. Perfect for fans of Peregrine Quinn and The Night I Borrowed Time.

Fred Olson and her super-organised best friend Malcolm Dreary face the biggest mystery of their lives when they are sent to the world's most boring cul-de-sac. There, they accept a wrong delivery of a winged dog, who once belonged to an ancient villain, uncover hidden portals to other realms and stumble into a secret war.

They discover that the boundary between worlds is fraying, and that Fred might be the key to sealing the cracks . . . or tearing them wide open.

Lisette Auton is an award-winning multidisciplinary artist. That means she does stuff with words, mainly as an author, performer and playwright. Her favourite stories to read and write are those where magic leaks into the everyday. She is proudly northern, disabled and neurodivergent, and the author of The Attic Door to Nowhere.

You can find her work in galleries, online, in theatres and bookshops, as well as random places such as railway station waiting rooms and launderettes. When she’s not playing with words you will find her collecting conkers and pebbles, or having a nap.

Jenny Taylor was born in Scotland but now lives in Preston with her partner and mischievous black cat Pigeon. Since graduating in 2017 Jenny has worked as a freelance illustrator, graphic designer, and pub sign painter. In 2020 Jenny completed an MA in Children’s Book Illustration where she quickly found her love for book illustration and character design.
Jenny’s aim with her work is to create fun and quirky illustrations, that are full of belly laughs and packed with nostalgic details. Her favourite things to draw are platters of food, clutter and animals doing ordinary, everyday chores. Jenny takes inspiration from everything around her, keeping a memory bank of weird and wonderful things that will always find their way into her work.
When not working you will most likely find Jenny underneath her cat playing classic videogames or trying to get her head around a new boardgame.
