A silent patch advancing with a noticeable persistence, until, as the sun began to stretch beyond the horizon to reveal those regions, it clung to the earth, shifting and almost being swallowed by the sands. It died until it was leveled with an overwhelming yellow, and his eye could no longer perceive it. So he turned to enjoy the sun's splendor that bathed the world, banishing its image from his memory so as not to spoil his enjoyment of that magnificent beauty.
